Fabulous at a cocktail Party
First of all, I want to tell you that this is not going to be a demure makeup, oh no! On the contrary it's very edgy and appealing. Dare to make an entrance with a "notice-me" look. The colors we used in this tutorial are bright, fun and sassy.
Step 1: Make sure your face is clean and prepared for makeup. Start with the right foundation. I might not have to tell you that less is more. You already know that. You have to achieve a totally natural-look not orange or pink. Blend well around your hairline and jawline. This is the first and basic step but the surprise will come when we get to the eyes. Trust me!
Step 2: Apply concealer on problematic areas, like the outer corner of your eye and the nose bridge. The concealer needs to be yellow based to cover blemishes naturally. If your concealer is too pink or too light it will emphasize the dark area instead of concealing it.
Step 3: Fix the foundation with translucide powder and then matte powder.
Step 4: We have to work on the browse a little bit. Start by filling in the blanks with a brow pencil that matches your brows and hair color.
You can blend it with brow powder or eyeshadow with high color pigments that is matte.
And now we get to the fun part.
Step 4: Begin by applying the base color on the inner portion of your lid. Pull the color upwards and outwards to cover the lower part of your lid. Don't worry if it's not perfect. You are going to blend it in the next steps. I have a tip though: if you want your eyeshadow to look fresh for hours, base your eyelid with a concealer which closely matches your skin tone and use high quality products.
Step 5: Now it's time to play with light and shadow. Sweep a light shade over lid and darker shade on the outer corner of the lid and the crease.
Step 6: Outline the eyes using turquoise eyeliner on the outer side of upper lid. When choosing an eyeliner pencil be sure to select one that is soft enough to glide easily.
Step 7: Mascara is something that every girl uses nowdays. You may go out without lipstick but never without your mascara. It is a great eye opener that emphasizes the lashes. In this case we used a volume mascara, deep black. Coat lashes from the very base to the tips with full strokes. Don't apply more than one coat to prevent clumping. For a more dramatic look you can apply false eyelashes on the outer corner of your eyes.
Step 8: Use blush and illuminator to contour your face. You want to achieve a natural glow so don't exagerate. Sweep the blush downward from the ear to mid-cheek, beginning in line with the top of the ear and ending at the end of the apple of your cheek. For skin illuminator we used powder. Apply it on your cheeckbones and down the bridge of your nose.
Step 9: Start by applying a lip balm to hidratate your li[s. Then start countouring them with a neutral colored pencil. Using a lip brush fill in with color. Finish with a nude tone of lipgloss.
